Hossein Tavazoni-Zadeh is an Iranian theatremaker and lecturer at the University of Groningen. Combining his research in Cultural Memory Studies with his creative practice, Hossein focuses on the memory of places, nostalgia, and the social issues intertwined with images of the past. In addition to teaching and leading workshops in France, the Netherlands, and Iran, he has collaborated with various companies as a writer, dramaturge, and stage designer. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in the final stages of his doctoral research, where he examines how media and fiction shape the memory of architectural styles and imbue them with emotions.
